The best day of our lives, undoubtedly.
October 7th was filled with so much love and joy. The day stays fragmented in my mind, as it flew by in the blink of an eye. I wish I could relive it over and over again. I realized on this day that none of the little details that I so intricately planned out even mattered. All that mattered was seeing my husband looking at me, his eyes so deep with admiration and unconditional love.
Our wedding day truly was the best day of my life. I have never felt so loved and supported by others. We were incredibly blessed to have our parents help us plan this beautiful day, and to have an amazing wedding party to celebrate with. I will forever cherish these photos, as they as a symbol of family, friendship, and new beginnings.
My vision //
I could not WAIT to show my readers my dress! Still swooning! Back when I was dress shopping, I strived to find a dress that was unique and boho-inspired. As soon as I saw this beautiful nude gown on the rack, I knew I had to try it on. When I did, I just knew instantly that it was the one. It was a perfect fit.
With my dress being so unique, I debated for a long time what color I wanted my bridesmaid dresses to be. I ultimately decided to go with ivory because I love neutrals and really couldn’t imagine my girls in any other color. Plus I felt it was the only tone that went well with the nude undertones of my dress. I allowed my girls the choice to choose whichever style of dress they preferred, as long as it was the color ivory and created by the same designer. I loved the concept of the differing necklines for each girls’ dress. Looking back at these photos, I am so glad I went with the color scheme that I did. I think it looks incredibly gorgeous, and it fits my style perfectly.
The theme of our wedding was boho with a slight vintage feel. I included a lot of greenery and succulents into my florals. For our centerpieces, I chose tall candelabras and trumpet vases complete with ivory roses and white hydrangeas. Our florist did a phenomenal job with making my dream a reality (see Buds n Blooms in my vendor list below!) I also incorporated globes and vintage suitcases onto our tables for a wanderlust feel.
What mattered the most //
By the time the day of the actual wedding came, I was over the planning. At that point, the only thing that mattered to me was sharing the day with my soon-to-be husband, family, and friends. I had the time of my life dancing, snapping pics in the photobooth, and stealing kisses from my new husband. Those are the little moments that matter that I will never forget. Yes, there were a few things that went wrong here and there, like the rain, but we made the best of the circumstances. (I am actually glad it rained now, because the umbrellas look awesome in the photos!) We also had friends and family travel great distances to share our special day. Specifically, three members of our wedding party flew in from Alaska, Virginia, and California. We cannot thank those who traveled long distances enough for making that sacrifice!
My favorite moments //
When I think back to October 7th, several special moments linger in my heart, never to be forgotten. First of all, the moment when my mother helped me slip on my dress was very special, as was seeing my daddy with tears in his eyes as we linked arms to head down the aisle. And of course, walking down the aisle and seeing Trev for the first time was a moment I will never forget. Other favorite moments of the night include listening to the MOH and Best Man speeches, dancing to our first dance, and dancing with my daddy. And let’s not forget about the the party bus, where I nearly lost my voice from singing my lungs out to Backstreet Boys. 😉
I hope you enjoyed looking at our wedding photos as much as I enjoyed sharing them. <3 If you have any questions about the day, please leave them in the comment section below! I was so excited to share this blog post and this special day with you. From the bottom of our hearts, Trevor and I thank you for supporting us in our greatest adventure of all.
