Hello friends and happy #WeddingWednesday! I’m excited to share with you my guide on what to wear to a bridal shower. We are in the thick of wedding season, that’s for sure. By the time August is over, I will have attended four separate bridal showers, including my own. I’ve had to learn how to be creative on deciding what to wear to each shower!
Not sure how you should dress for your upcoming bridal shower? Here are some things to consider while dressing for your event.

Where is your shower located?
Depending on where your shower is located will dictate the dress code. If your shower is outdoors in the bride’s backyard, then you could most likely get away with a care-free maxi dress with flats. If the shower is at a more fancy location, think of dressing more conservative, such as a midi dress with heels.
Be mindful of who will be there
Bridal showers are not an event where you should have a plunging neckline showing your boobs, lol. Nor is it a place where you should wear a skimpy little number cus you ladies are hitting the bars after her shower. It’s a semi-formal event celebrating the bride’s new beginning. Her grandma will be there, her aunts, cousins, possibly her great aunts, you name it. When I was actually shopping for a bridesmaid dress a few weeks ago I was tempted to buy a maxi dress that had slits on the side but I knew this was not the time and place for it.
Do not wear white
I’m stating the obvious here, but some people just don’t get it. Avoid wearing white at all costs; I would even offer avoiding wearing ivory and cream tones as well. This is not your day; you are here to celebrate your friend. Give her that respect and let her have her big day to herself.
Go for comfort
Especially if you are in the bridal party, chances are you are going to have your hands full running a bridal shower game or attending to the guests. This might not be easy to accomplish if you are wearing stilettos. I would wear something comfortable so you can still enjoy yourself.
For my look, I chose a modest bohemian-styled floral maxi dress and paired it with a sun hat. This would be the perfect outfit to wear for your outdoor summer bridal shower.
We are nearing the 2 month mark for my own wedding! Here’s what tools I have been using lately courtesy of my favorite planning source, WeddingWire!

- Wedding Checklist – This has been a lifesaver in personalizing and manage my to-do list. It allows me to check off items as I complete them! Great for other organizational freaks like me! 😉
- Budget Tool – This helps me track spending, set up payment schedules, and redistribute funds.
