I’m so excited to share with you my first style collab with the AMAZING Kalli from Kallidoscope Photography! This is the first of four blogs post I have coming up featuring her work. Not only is Kalli one of the most genuine and passionate individuals I have ever worked with, but she is ah-mazingly talented!!! If any of you are ever in the area and in need of a wedding photographer, please don’t hesitate to reach out to her!
Today’s post is all about showcasing your inner playfulness. Don’t think you have what it takes to pull of this look? I’m here to help you create that perfect bohemian look that is all the rage right now.
1.) Fringe is your bestie
For me, I don’t think I will ever get sick of fringe; nor will I ever stop wearing it. Fringe makes me feel unstoppable, young, and artistic. Add a fringe vest, fringe sandals, or a fringe purse to add to the boho look that you are styling.
2.) Strive for earthy tones
The origins of the boho look encapsulate honoring our Earth and respecting the land where we came from. I like to stick with shades of black, brown, white and green.
3.) Wear chunky pieces
Super chunky necklaces are just SO fun! I like sticking with black or gray pieces to accent the earthy tones, and pairing it with a high-neck sleeveless top. Just be careful with them; you don’t want it to look too busy!
4.) Try some arm candy
How adorable is my arm piece from H&M?! Adding some chunky arm candy is a super fun and easy way to spice up any boho look. I love these pieces that stay on your forearms! The piece I am wearing is surprisingly comfortable as well, and does not slide off.
5.) Go with beachy waves
Lastly, you can’t complete a free-spirited look without the tosseled/beach wave hair. Or as I call it, the no-brush look. 😉 How do I get my beachy waves? When I get out of the shower, I first add a little styling mouse and scrunch my hair to give it some texture, followed by blow drying it. Then, I add soft curls with a 1/2 inch barrel curling iron, curling out away from my face. Finally, I softly brush my fingers through my hair after I’m done curling, teasing the crown to add a little volume, and finish the look with hair spray. The messy waves totally adds to the free, no-care look we are striving to get.
