This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and Dove Dry Spray Antiperspirant, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #trydry #instantlytrending #dovepartner http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV
I’ve always loved reading “A Day in the Life” posts! I thought that just for fun, I’d share with you all what a typical day of blogging looks like for me! This day is literally identical to what this past Saturday was for me.
6:00 AM – Rise and Shine: Coffee & Emails
I love being a morning person! My mornings are the best time for me to get my stuff done because there are no interruptions, and I wake up feeling so motivated and inspired! For the first hour of the day, I usually start with my inbox and tackle the “tune-up” work. Most people hate going through their email, but I love making connections! I contact brands that I want to work with, respond to other emails regarding blog campaigns & collaborations, send my weekly or monthly newsletter, respond to reader emails, log my finances, and track my blog stats.
7:00 AM – Writing blog posts & Breakfast
Like I mentioned, mornings are when I feel the most refreshed and energized. My blog posts HAVE to be written in the morning, unless I want them to end up a jumbled mess that doesn’t make sense! (Writing at night does NOT work out in my favor). Also, I work on blog graphics. This is VERY time consuming. Blogging doesn’t entail just writing; it also includes styling and creating graphics for posts so people will share my writing!
8:00 AM- Prep & Get ready for shoot
Shoot time. I hop in the shower. I’m always super excited before shooting with Haylee, and also a little nervous because I want everything to turn out great! I usually blast music while I’m getting ready. Currently I’m obsessing over some Alanis Morissette & Halsey. Any other regular day, my beauty & hair routine takes literally 10 minutes, but for a shoot, I like to take my time! I promise, usually it doesn’t make me 2 hours to get ready!
Although this blog encompasses fashion, travel & self-help posts, my fashion posts DEFINITELY require the most prep, especially days like this past Saturday when we took photos for 3 outfits in one day. All of my outfits are carefully styled weeks in advance and are laid out the night before. Nothing is worse than getting to a shoot and realizing that I forgot the matching accessories. I like to feel prepared the day I wake up for a shoot, which requires lots of planning before hand. Contrary to popular thinking, most fashion bloggers don’t just get up and magically get photographed the way they dress that day!
Before my shoot, I make sure to apply my secret weapon, Dove Dry Spray Antiperspirant. I’m excited to share with you guys that I’ve partnered with Dove to share with you all how Dove Dry Spray Antiperspirant goes on clear and dry and keeps me confident and moisture- free all day with photo shoots! I always keep it handy in my purse for emergencies.
I feel like I can tackle anything life throws my way with these bad boys! Why it’s a necessity: Dove Dry Spray Antiperspirant goes on instantly dry with no visible residue while providing 48 hours of odor and wetness protection and Dove ¼ moisturizers for softer, smoother underarms. Because it’s SO convenient, it truly is the latest beauty trend that I’m happy to be a part of!
10:00 AM- Photo shoot
It seems that mornings work best for our lighting. I hop in my car and meet my friend Haylee to do some blog photos.
The designation of where we shoot varies. We’ve taken blog photos downtown, on a country road, near some train tracks, and an old abandoned barn, just to name a few. Creatively, this has been the biggest challenge for me. Living in a rural town 30 minutes north of Green Bay has its challenges. The nearest large metro area is Milwaukee at 2 hours away; therefore shooting for a “city feel” can be hard to capture, unfortunately.
12:00 PM- Lunch, Blog Commenting, & Instagramming
The millisecond I get back home, the fancy clothes (and bra) comes off! I’m back into my cozy sweats. It’s so funny because I have had people tell me before, “How do you always look so cute and fashionable?!” Girl, if you only KNEW what I look like when I don’t have to go anywhere!!!!
I pour myself another cup of coffee and get back to the grind. I work on commenting on other blogs, commenting back to my readers on my own blog posts, and work on my Instagram game. Many non-bloggers would be surprised to know that bloggers actually schedule their social media posts! One would think we wing everything but really, it’s all carefully mapped out. Noon is a great time to Instagram because this allows my followers from across the world to be able to likely see my posts.
2:00 PM – Inspiration Hour
When I have time, I like to schedule an “Inspiration Hour” to myself. This is when I set aside my phone, turn off the TV, and dedicate an hour to researching blogging topics. I go on Pinterest and look up things that I may need help with, such as getting my photography down for layout shots. I look at the big-time bloggers and gather inspiration from their feeds. Sometimes, I read an inspirational book. This time is my own special time to re-center myself and remind myself why I’m working so hard.
4:00 PM- Sweat it out
By this time, I’m mentally exhausted and can’t look at my computer screen anymore. I NEED to work out, to keep myself sane. Seriously. This usually involves doing a home work out on a weekend, or going to the fitness center in town during the work week. I love strength training! After my workout, I’m done for the day! Blogging is a full-time job for me. In addition with my graduate studies and planning a wedding, you could say my life is a bit hectic! But I wouldn’t want it any other way. I thrive under a busy schedule.
And that’s a wrap! Thanks for following me along on a typical day! And remember what I told you about my secret weapon! Dove Dry Spray Antiperspirant has got you covered when it comes to wetness and odor protection.
