Wisconsin winters are not for the faint-hearted. We like to joke that winter is typically a 6 month season around here with the frigid temps and endless snow. However, this winter so far has shaped to be very different than the past ones. It’s been unseasonably mild and dry; something that at first seemed like a blessing. I used to hate winter, mostly because driving is a pain in the butt, and I don’t really have thick skin (even though I’m born and raised in Wisconsin!) With each day passing, I get anxious about when it is going to snow. With the holidays soon approaching, Christmas just doesn’t feel right unless we have a white winter wonderland!
Lately, I’ve been desperately in need of updating my Winter wardrobe. I have plenty of fun summer and fall clothes, but lack those thick, cozy sweaters that are an absolute necessity for Wisconsin winters. I recently came across the most adorable boutique called HandPicked that supplied me some of the CUTEST winter wear I have ever owned.
A small town girl, I’m a huge fan of small businesses. I will support locally owned small businesses before I ever touch anything corporate. When HandPicked reached out to me to collab, I researched the boutique and was very pleased with the company’s story and values. Inspired by silver artisans of Mexico, HandPicked strives to pleasantly surprise every customer by offering new and affordable, specially designed, handmade and hand-selected sterling silver jewelry and personalized gifts. After browsing the site, I came to the conclusion that I basically want every single product they offer. It all just SCREAMS “Chelsea!” The bohemian vibe, the crazy patterns, and the edgy jewelry; I wish I would have found this boutique earlier.
I am forever thankful for this GORGEOUS Elegant Native Fringe Ruana that HandPicked sent me. If you are anything like me, you may be questioning, “What the heck is a ruana?” When I came across this word on their website, I looked it up; a ruana is a poncho-inspired garment that has origins from Venezuela and Colombia. I love the eccentric patterns and the cool tones of navy and gray; perfect for this cold weather!
I’m so in love with the Hunger Games-inspired “Girl On Fire” necklace, earrings, and bracelet set. These arrow-shaped sterling silver pieces give any look an edgier feel.
If you are looking for last-minute gift ideas for the holidays, I totally recommend checking out the goodies by HandPicked. Each item is unique and tells a story. In addition, prices are very reasonable. (Something that is a MUST for me!!)
I’ve never owned a poncho before, and I can honestly say that I’m completely in love. Not only is it incredibly warm, but the oversized sweater that drapes over my shoulders gives it a sexy, yet classy vibe. Last night I wore it to my sister’s last high school choir concert and even onstage for the last song that the alumni and community is invited to join. I received so many compliments on it! Paired with my favorite wool hat and my new caramel heeled boots from Charlotte Russe, this may be one of cutest outfits I have ever put together.
